Skeleton in the Window

Hannibal, Missouri
March 20, 2012

Last spring, during a stroll in downtown Hannibal, I looked up at the attic window of an old house and saw this skeleton. I was told by a nearby shopkeeper that it has been there for ages.

Wishing everyone a pleasant Halloween

Jack-o-lantern in a Row

Washington, Missouri
10-18-2012

This family has been lining the walls with jack-o-lanterns for as long as I have lived in town.  This year the wall is all orange pumpkins.  They have used everything from pink, purple, black, orange or a mixture of colors over the years.  The plastic pumpkins light up at night.

Gold Lining the Avenue

St. Peters, Missouri
October 14. 2012

I found this rather odd.  The main road beside a major area shopping mall, deserted in the middle of a Sunday afternoon. Was it the expected rain, or the St. Louis Cardinals in the world series playoff?
